Why are there 12 mega evolution from Gen 1 and 8 Mega evolution from Gen 3, but only 5 Mega Evolutions fro Gen 2?
Also they really ruined Mega Heracross

Well it would make sense that older generations get more Megas, while newer generations get fewer.
In the future Gen 5 and Gen 6 will get some too

Because Gen 2 has proportionally less Pokemon. If you remove babies and evolutions to old stuff, it has much less than 100. 3 has like 130ish still.

So it makes sense 3 has proportionally more Megas.
