What are some small details that are the deciding factor in your dislike of a pokemon design?
For me, I can't stand Garchomp's flat fucking head and weird cleft lip thing.
If it just kept the same head shape as Gabite, I would love it. But that fucking flat head just bothers me.

I used to dislike both of these, but they've grown on me quite a bit in the new engine. Especially Dusknoir's stomach/mouth opening when it uses its attacks.

At the very least it should have kept the duck beak, then maybe I could have excused it's creepy canon hands, but no. It lost it's bazooka beak in favor of creepy pink clown lips that look shredded and torn on the corners.

This whole line. Their noses were deal breakers, and the veins in their arms made it worse.

But the middle form is probably the worst of all with it's creepy lump head and buggy the clown face.

I tend to like the designs that sit right on the edge of cute and badass. Raichu, Dewott, Ivysaur, Scrafty - those all come to mind. My favorite Gen 6 design is probably Frogadier.

It's easier to just say that I hate anything that resembles Druddigon.

Ironically it was a small detail that made me LIKE one.

At first I hated this guy because I thought the things on its chin were where the mouth was.

Then I its animation in crystal and hhss and found out where its actual mouth was. And it suddenly became a bro of the highest order. I'm so happy it and furret appear early in X/Y.

I still have trouble with understanding how Gallade's features are a design-killer.

For as long as I remember living I have been the kind of a person that takes no time to 'get used to' a given design - be it a toy, a piece of video game design or architecture - if there was some flaw that could not been unseen without accomodation, it was - and still is - a common practice for me to assign it to 'shit tier' and go on to the next one.

I never understood the 'appeal' of Blastoise and its awkward cannons were enough of a reason for me to pretend that whole line doesn't exist.

Emboar's outfit and posture - even more of a design-killer.

Swoobat, Cryogonal and all others with 'can't unsee' bits - instant trash.

Lucario being overcrowded with archetypes of a shallow animu hero from nowhere? Cannot be redeemed, not now, not ever.

Salamence is the only pokemon which I convinced myself that looks well, despite its cardboard axe wings.

Yet Gallade is one of these designs that I was able to accept from the get-go.
