Why didn't gamefreak either change IVs to be drastically less important or remove the IV system completely?

I know autists and perfectionists need something to do for hours and hours at a time but it's just tedium and it seriously affects the online play.

Even going so far as automatically setting every pokemon's IVs to max for the duration of battles would do a great deal to even the playing field for people who aren't autistic.

If you want to switch up your team, try a new tactic, alter moves, or anything you have to go through a lot of bullshit to pump out a near perfect pokemon and it's garbage.

Why couldn't the breeding aspect have been altered entirely to affect non-battle stats? Maybe make it have more to do with contests or single player competitions than online battling?

Not that I'll ever battle online outside of Pokemon Showdown, but still.
