Hello /vp/ , i need help with my IV's breeding. So far i haven't got any results. I have given my gastly a Power Lens but the egg gastlys dosent get the 31 IV's in sp.Attack. Why dosen't it work ?

Use Destiny Knot instead. It's better. Also make sure your parent gastly have 31 IV in Sp. Att

I read another thread and someone got similarly weird results. I think they may have changed the power item mechanics for breeding.

power items pass the direct value of the parent's IV. It doesn't give perfect if the parent's isn't perfect.

I respect that I guess, but none of us are going to compile a list of things you need to know when there are resources you can use already. Try going to serebii.net, and read up on the breeding mechanics there, then come back here and ask about the things that aren't mentioned there. For example, if you're looking for information about egg moves that haven't been compiled on sites yet, you can come here and ask, and we'll be happy to help.

Breeding for idiots a guide

Here you go OP and for other people who cannot breed well

Breeding for Idiots; a guide
1) Work out what moves, nature and ability you want on your final pokemon
2)Find out if one of those moves are egg moves if yes go to step 3 if no, go to step 6
3)Find a male pokemon with said move on it
4)Breed that male with a female of the species you want
5)Keep breeding that shit until you end up with a male of the species you want with the abilities you want
6)Breed this shit until you get a female with the ability and nature you want
6)Check out the IV's of your pokemon by talking to the Ace Trainer the Pokemon center in Kiloude City
7)If one (or more) stat "Cannot be beat!" Stick that pokemon in the daycare with a power item on it and a everstone on the other one
8)Keep breeding this shit until you get a pokemon with 2 (or more) IVs that cannot be beat then replace your current parent with the better parent (Remember to switch the power item and/or everstone!)
9)Keep replacing parents like this until you get two pokemon in the daycare with 3+ "cannot be beat" IVs then replace the power item with a destiny knot
10)Replace parents if they are better than the current parents until you get a perfect pokemon
11)Yay you got a good pokemon now EV train it and shit so you do good at the battle thing
