I skipped BW2. I finished B.

Is it worth getting BW2? Does it have anything really important that I'd miss out on heavily when Pokebank goes live?

Also it provides you with a good amount of legendaries that you may or may not be missing.

If you're planning on playing competitive in X and Y, it's worth noting there are a bunch of moves that you can only really get on certain Pokémon with move tutors in B/W2 right now. That said, there's no means to transfer from BW2 to X and Y until Pokémon Bank lands at Christmas. It's still a good game, but that's the only real reason you should feel obligated to get it.

Move on to 6.

It has a hell of a lot more pokemon to choose from. If you really need to get BW2 just get it for the move tutor.

I did the exact opposite, skipped b and picked up b2. Honestly as for post game I thought it was a good game with the black tower and all, but nothing compared to the battle frontier which they need to bring back. The subway was nice but I always got matched up against japs using outrage spam and dying I haven't tried too many competitive battles I am going to get into competitive in Y though

If you want to get your Pokemon from the Gen IV games, you're gonna need a Gen V to do it.

A pain in the ass but unfortunately there's no other way at the moment.

That's what I am doing right now. I am literally only playing Diamond/Pearl for the very reason of getting my IV/EV-trained Pokemon teams out of there along with some legendaries and event pokemon I received onto X&Y eventually.

At least all I need for everything to work is just a 3DS and a DS Lite.

Despite jumping from Gen III to Gen VI, I still have access to an OG DS, SoulSilver, and White through friends.

Don't have any IV/EV trained mons in III though, just about a box worth that an old bro and I used to fight each other with for years a long time ago, so I want to keep them with me in Gen VI.
