Bah, I'm having trouble finding a reliable source with an explanation of how Destiny Knot mechanically works.

Is it if the mother has (ABCDEF) in IV and the father has (UVWXYZ) then the child gets (A || U) (B || V) (C || W) (D || X) (E || Y) (F || Z)?

Or does it randomly select 5 from the total pool of 12 Parental IV's? Like from ABCDEF and UVWXYZ it can spit out WBCXY-Random?
