>>15723666Speaking as someone who actually played Gen I competitively for quite a while, no, no it is not fun. Because of the mechanics, literally everyone has the same team of Exeggutor/Alakazam/Snorlax/Tauros/Chansey/Golem. Sure, someone might swap out a Golem for a Rhydon or a Snorlax for a Zapdos, but 99% of Gen I teams fall into the same mold, and a lot of Pokemon are literally unviable.
The newer gens may have some centralizing mons but nothing nowhere near as bad as Gen I. At least in the newer gens, you can use lower tier Pokemon and still do very well.
