I always hear people say Galvantula is shit without giving any specific reasons.

Galvantula has a decent movepool. I'll list the important ones:

Sticky Web
Agility
Gastro Acid
Spider Web
Sucker Punch
Thunder Wave
Electroweb
Bug Buzz
U-Turn

It can learn Sleep Talk, Spore, and Magnet Rise from Gen 5 tutors.

It has 472 base stats, the highest being its speed at 108 followed by its Sp Atk at 97. It is very frail otherwise.

Compound Eyes is its best ability, raising its accuracy greatly. Unnerve and Swarm are largely useless.

please, half those moves are useless.
Agility is pointless on it, gastro acid is a waste of a moveslot (unless you're playing hackmons), sucker punch is stupidly weak, there are way better users of thunder wave and spiderweb (galvantula is too frail), electroweb is a PISSPOOR move always. So that leaves us with Sticky Web, Bug buzz, Uturn. Sleep talk is shit on it because it's not bulky, magnetrise is a waste of a moveslot as well. It can't learn spore, you're wrong about that.

You're not going to use it as a Thunder or Giga Drainer. You're not going to use it as a Hidden Power or Energy Baller. You might run Volt Switch instead of U Turn but U Turn is better.

Keep in mind it also has the increased Paralyze chance from Thunder.

Main reason I used it in BW, and Sticky Web + Thunder are keeping him on my team for the maison. That combined with the fact that Sticky Web is fucking PERFECT to support Garchomp, only thing that can kill him is fucking Ice Shards out of nowhere.

YES you are going to use it with Giga Drain, Hidden power and Energy Ball, it is a special attacker and those moves give it COVERAGE. Thunder
Bug Buzz
HP Ground
Sticky Web

Anything else is subpar. You can swap HP for Volt Switch for the momentum but it's personal preference.

Sticky web is really good on him.

But the talonflame meta is shifting things to be about bulky, slower tanks.

He's really good, but it's hard to say how good. He will float around OU for a good amount of time, just from people trying to play gen 6 like gen 5.

stab fury cutter hitting every single time would be amazing.then if you were to choose a held item that might boost said damage it might be a great move on Galvantula.

i agree attract would probably be the only bad move listed cause you couldn't use it on every pokemon.

swagger would always hit because of his eyes though.would you rather let them hit them self in confusion or take no damage and waste a attacking turn every once in awhile with thunder wave.if they have guts you would had just boosted their attack with thunder wave.
