Plus I never noticed the eyestalks on anorith until gen 5, what with the blinking, so I assumed the red things on anorith were similar compound eyes. I guess I was so disposed to seeing the red compound eyes that I overlooked them in the art, and/or I never looked too closely. They're extremely obvious now that I'm aware of it.
