I know how EVs work, but I don't really understand how IVs work. Can someone explain it?
I know that natures offer a stat boost and a stat deduction, so therefore its best to raise a Pokemon with a nature that boosts a weak area while taking away from a stat they won't miss, like a slow Rock type having a boost to Special Defense and a deduction in Speed, as they won't be moving first anyway.
I also know that using an ever stone, you can breed offspring that always retain a specific nature of the parent holding the ever stone.
In my case, I've bred several dozen Kabuto with the "careful" nature, meaning they have a boost to special defense and a lower special attack which they don't need anyway.
So my question is, how do I know what each Kabuto's IVs are? Essentially, how do I know which of these dozens of "careful" Kabuto to raise?
