Gen IV was objectively the slowest of all the modern Pokemon games.

Actually, I'm focusing on the actual interaction with said Pokemon and not the benefits you reap from it.
If you could get said benefits from some other mechanic, you would say that it was useless as well.
Simply put, you don't like fun and you don't like when the Pokemon actually start feeling more like companions on a journey with you and not just existing in battles.

They WON'T provide all said features at launch even if they can.

They will save it up for a third version, a remake, or even just leaving it to the next gen.

They could do it if they wanted to, but they won't.

OP here. I'm replaying Platinum right now after having played Black/White and Black 2/White 2 and I can't understand why people say it's slow. Same thing for HeartGold/SoulSilver. It's like these people are actually stuck on the Diamond/Pearl experience.

BW added full idle and attack animations for every pokemon on top of updating front and back sprites. XY did models and animation for everything. It is perfectly reasonable to believe they simply didn't have the time for EVERYTHING.
