In any case, ones hatched in other regions (Kanto, Johto, and Unova) really should have had new forms. Same with ones found in the Friend Safari, because that's still wild in a new region.
It's a real missed opportunity. You could have had a Pokémon where it was like "hey look! I've had this guy since Diamond!" or something just by looking at it.
