>>15774157From what I can see Kecleon doesn't learn Metronome, at least not in recent generations. (Actually on further discovery, you would need to import Kecleon from Gen 3, so he does exist)
He doesn't learn Assist or Copycat either, for some reason.
However he DOES learn Magic Coat. That means bouncing back status and become its type.
Two things to consider, though:
1) Munchlax is already normal, so does using Metronome force the user to change types twice?
Does Protean have a limit on how many times it can be activated in one turn?
This could also apply to Magic Coat since it would activate Protean twice in one turn.
2) One thing you failed to mention was what happens to the Kecleon and Spritzee once they had lost Protean. Do they revert back to their original types, or keep their most recent one?
Because THAT'S the interesting thing I think, and may actually have some use as a gimmick.
I can't think of specific examples of how a pokemon turning monotype might help, but there must be some. Skill Swap means some Ability sheningans too.
Also the video for those interested. Turn battle animations on in options or it will be harder to work out what's going on.
