Only thing you can do is burn it. Going for a SE attack is fucking yourself up, as most of the time Aegi is gonna be holding a weakness policy.

Christ, Malamar is a Physical attacker. Night Slash is its best Dark STAB. If it Night Slashes an Aegislash, it either does Super-Effective damage, or it gets a free +2 because of how Contrary works with King's Shield.

It depends on each competitors prediction skills

Either the opponent is stupid enough to use kings shield on a malamar or malamar wastes a turn thinking aegislash sets up with swords dance

Not to mention if aegislash goes for the kill without setting up and malamar survives it a night slash could potentially OHKO aegislash due to stance change

Every single malamar I've ever faced:

I still have to find a Malamar user that manages to outpredict me. Right now, people use it as "muh Aegislash counter" without having any idea of how to actually counter anything.

Normally they King's Shield first turn which gives me a free switch. Worst comes to worst Flame Body will burn him and I lose a Pok?mon.

Otherwise I get one Quiver Dance off and Fiery Dance him to death.

It's pretty tough for me to counter if they lead with it, but if they don't my Trevenant makes short work of them. He can burn them from behind a sub, and Phantom Force hits through King's Shield.

My Mamoswine can also take a +4 Shadow Sneak and OHKO with Earthquake, but I've not seen one smart enough to use Iron Head or Sacred Sword, so I haven't seen how much it does to a shield forme one.

Aegislash isn't made to sweep, but rather to scare something away and dent the switch-in. Staying in for too long isn't good for it, as the opponent may carch up with your move pattern and outpredict you.
