If Barbaracle has the ridiculous stats that Smogon originally predicted, he'd be up there. As it currently stands, he's not even in the running.

Goodra isn't bad, but it's better suited for supporting certain teams rather than something that works well on its own.

Aegislash and Talonflame are ridiculous. I think Aegislash will be less useful as people begin to predict him better, but Talonflame will be on top for a while.

Talonflame is seriously garbage without generous attack boosts, but the same could be said for almost any pokemon. Gale Wings is good for shit like Mega Blaziken but I honestly see Talonflame being UU with gimmick use in higher tiers.

Charizard was semi-decent before rocks.
Then rocks appeared, and ruined its most powerful and usable set (sub+belly drum) so it became shit.
Then he got megas, and became semi-decent again.

Funnily enough the Smogon thread on Charizard has mostly good things to say about it. Oddly enough there are some lengthy debates in favor of Charizard Y.

If that helps then go for it. Charizard(X&Y) is a nice pokemon to use and responds good when given the chance. You have 5 more slots for good teammates who can play wonders with it and make it work.

I don't think that many people hate Zard, most just hate the fanbase that will flaunt it because it looks somewhat like a dragon. It's a nostalgia thing, but it's pretty lackluster to everyone who picked the other Gen I starters, Blue or Green version, Leafgrean, or generally anything other than Zard.

I think it's mostly how awesome "Priority Brave Bird" sounds on paper. He really doesn't have anything else going for him, though I'd say he's still more viable than standard Charizard.

I used to think this way. Then I actually tried Talonflame out. Speed Boost Scolipede passes buffs to a Salamence? BBird 1HKO after Stealth Rocks. Predicted aqua jet azumarill, switched to ferrothorn to lol, got belly drum/Superpowered. No problem, brave bird scored the revenge kill.

Seriously, Talon Flame can stop so many potential sweeps, and IMO is best glass canon around.
