Did it change this gen? Ive been trying to chaing Flabebe on route seven an i can only get to around 20 before a roselia just pops out of nowhere.

And has anyone figured out what the change to more upbeat music means (not the regular poke radar music)? I got it about 3 or 4 times in a row and I was able to get a shiny Zoroark on the 10th encounter instead of regular 40+

Just as long as it isn't the tile right next to you or the one after, I think it's okay? I'm still real shitty at this, keep messing up and I'm not sure why. I never tried chaining before in the earlier games.

So, resetting doesn't actually break the chain, does it? if I don't see any patch that's suitable, I can just recharge the radar and get a different pattern to continue from?
