Can I read the HeartGold SoulSilver arc of Pocket Monsters Special without having read the Emerald arc? I am currently at volume 16 (Ruby/Sapphire) and I want to read the HG/SS but I'm not sure if it will contain spoilers about the R/S or Emerald arc or things that I don't understand because I haven't read those arcs.

Well other than Silver no longer being a statue, they tend to avoid mentioning Gen 3 (outside of FR/LG).

It's also worth noting that they make reference to a post Gen 2 story about Gold and Red training in Mt. Silver, but you don't have to read it.

It does sorta spoil Regigigas D/P/Pt but no significantly.

Thanks. I know about Red and Gold training at Mt. Silver, that was at the end of volume 14 (Or at the beginning of volume 15, depends on your version).

Pretty nice. Goes back and forth between the two official translators and scanlations, and in the very beginning there are a couple chapters in the RBY parts you read right to left (lol), but after that it's fine. The very beginning of GSC is weird, and after that I haven't run into any other inconsistencies.

Wow that's a weird coincidence. I am literally reading that chapter in my print volume.

And by the way, you are supposed to read manga from right to left, but the scans are from a print from Singapore, where they mirrored every page.
