For some reason this Generation is my favorite.
Something about Sinnoh and everything in it appealed to me.

I love 4th gen too, currently replaying Platinum. I really think Sinnoh does a lot of things best. The music is fantastic, I really love the smooth jazz feel of it. I think Sinnoh did the whole "feeling of adventure" better than Hoenn. Team Galatic feels like the most competent team. The Champion and the rival are both the most challenging champion/rival in all of Pokémon.

And I fucking love the Pokémon. About 60-70% of my favourite Pokémon are from Sinnoh for some reason.

I am a bit biased since Sinnoh got me back into Pokémon though.

It had the best starter, i.e. Infernape. Empoleon and Torterra are fucking terrible and didn't really need to exist. I should know because I chose Torterra on the first playthrough.

I dislike the gen 1 starters, I didn't even like them as a kid. They're all fat. Hoenn and Sinnoh had the best starters.

I had no problem with the other two Starters. I fucking loathe the three elemental monkeys, so maybe it's just me having a problem with simians.

Gen 4's mythology and concept around mystery and history, with lots of folklore-referencing mons and concepts was pretty cool. Shame we never did visit the Hall of Origin.

Okay, yeah. I'll cop to that. I like the mythology and I mention the Hall of Origin by name, but yeah- pokeGod as demiurge is pretty dumb. I shouldn't have the primogen of reality in a quick ball.

Sure, Diamond and Pearl were pretty sluggish, but at least they somewhat improved that in Platinum.
Besides, I thought Team Galactic was a pretty interesting team to fight. There theme was nice and their grunts were relatively stupid, but Cyrus and the commanders had an air of strength about them.
Barry's team was great fun to fight, along with Cynthia as well. The way they gave more evolutions to certain pokemon like Roserade and Electivire/Magmortar/Dusknoir/Porygon-Z was nice too.

Great region, great bunch of new Pokémon (suffers from too many evolutions/babies and not enough genuine new ones), and great all around really. The main problems were that there weren't enough new ones and they didn't include enough old ones in D/P, and D/P were slow as fuck, both of which were fixed in Platinum.

Great generation that is seriously underrated.
