>>15797231For the same reason why people dislike pay2win games. I love breeding. I'll breed Pokemon just to give them away and to have the sense of satisfaction that comes with putting a lot of time and effort into creating something great.
But when someone can just hack in a Pokemon, it takes away the sense of satisfaction, because why would I spend all that time to create something that can be mass-produced in seconds? The end product is the same, or better, and it feels like my time was wasted.
It's the same with WoW farmers who sell gold for money. Or People who just zap 3D models into Minecraft. Or even mass-produced cookies.
It doesn't make hard-earned gold, hand-built structures, or home baked cookies any less good, and ultimately it's a great tool for people to have who don't have the time or ability to get the product on their own, but we can't help but begrudge the fast and easy method because the people who use them say "why would you breed when you can just hack them in?"
It's like if we had to work 2 jobs and put in overtime to save up enough money to buy a car, and someone else just has their rich daddy buy them the same car. We don't hate that they have the car, because nice cars are cool to have. We don't like it because they're spoiled, and they don't appreciate the value and the hard work that was put into it. The reason why so many people hate Donald Trump or Mitt Romney isn't because they're rich, it's because they didn't have to work for it, and they don't understand how much other people have to work for it rather than just have their rich dads do it for them.
I don't hate you because you hack in Pokemon, but if you belittle the breeding process while you do it, you're acting like the spoiled rich kid making fun of the other kids for having to earn their stuff.
Don't be a Donald Trump. Don't belittle breeding.
