And now you've got this Karenfag/hackfag mentality going on here: these two concepts aren't opposites. People who hack don't always assume they're infallible: many hack so they can speed up the process. I don't hack for one, but you're making a broad generalization, which doesn't help your case. Next, you're assuming that all Karenfags want to make competitively viable teams with their pokemon, which isn't true at all.
Some people just like to win, and make a team indefinitely more sound than one totally relying on subjective taste: nothing wrong with that, though it's a bit soulless. That's why you should find a middle ground: use good pokemon you like. I, for one, am running Mega Banette really well because Banette was my favorite pokemon when I was younger.
