I've only played about 10 ranked battles. In about 7 of those matches the connection cut out and the game gave me a loss.

Not going to bother for a bit. My crappy temporary internet setup just hates Pokemon.

Not really.
People quit and d/c from those all the time because there is no penalty. Also you get a ton of people who can't even play.

Even if you were to completely ignore the rating itself, rated battles would still be superior.
But maybe you're just that guy who wants to spam Mewtwo-Y, Yveltal and such

I played the Jap who was Rank 6 on the Double Ladders at the time of playing him, and he was using your standard goodstuffs Doubles team you would expect from a "smogonfag" as you retards like to call it.

Most good Japanese players use similiar tactics you see in the VGC competitions at high level play, i.e. worlds top 8, etc.

Because 3v3 is awful. If I wanted 3v3 I'd go fucking Maison, not ranked. Ranked should've been 6v6 like EVERYTHING IN THE GAME.

I usually win though, the only legendary that is really troublesome is xerneas.

Yesterday i fought against a guy who who used mewtwo x, xerneas, and greninja.
HIs greninja had Surf, Hidro cannon, Water Shuriken and Hydro Pump.

I almost fucking lost because of xerneas.

6v6 is boring as shit. It's just a game of whose sweepers sweep harder since you can bring along all your walls / leads / whatever and thus take no risk prioritising what you need to take on your opponent's strengths.

Either way actually picking your pokemon out of the 6 at the beginning while seeing what your enemy has requires some thinking too.

Because there are a significant number of abilities and pokemon that are useless outside of doubles. Doubles also makes it so that almost every pokemon is a viable team member, which obviously should be promoted. Singles is just inferior to doubles in terms of making use of all the abilities and combinations that gamefreak has put into the game, regardless of whether or not you like one over the other. Obviously they would want to promote a battle format that can make use of all abilities and such, rather than one that doesn't.

It adds an extra layer of strategy into it. With a full team, you just pick everyone and your opponent picks everyone, so there's no need to think about who you're sending up or why you'd send them up. By limiting your team (outside of triples), you have to look at what your opponent has and think about what they might send up and what would be best for you to send up in return.
