Except less Pokemon doesn't guarantee quality. That rule doesn't apply here. I actually find a lot of the Pokemon this gen to be mediocre. Meanwhile I like most of gen 5 and gen 1, even though they introduced the most.

The biggest ruse this gen. They promised riding pokemon, and all we got was that Rhydon route, the Piloswine one, and the Skiddo one. Plus the shit in Lumiose. Admittedly though, the Skiddo route was really cool and I sometimes visit there just to ride around.

That huge gap made me anticipate similar gaps between each gym. I was excited as fuck, thinking it might feel like a really long adventure, but no... Gyms 3-8 were totally forgettable.

Just as BW was analagous to gen1 and BW2 was analagous to gen2, XY is analagous to gen3. Gen7 will bring back all the things that didn't make it to gen6 because they were too busy making 3D models of every Pokémon
