I wouldn't call it a waste, it's good for making money. And you get to battle Diantha again.

Also you get medals. And supposedly having more medals unlocks more items you can buy in the global link pokemile shop

Seasons was one of the coolest things that they implemented pretty badly. Locking out areas of the game for 3 months intervals was not cool. And taking away daytime/nighttime encounter rates for seasonal encounter rates sucked too.

Seeing as how it is Gamefreak's first fully 3D main title, it's a little much to expect them to implement a system that means they have to make 4 different variations of many areas of the game.

How about this:

Introduce some kind of magic box/flute/seasonal machine/I don't care.
The important thing is that once you reach post-game, you can pay 500k pokedollars to change to whatever season you want.

Would be an extra money dump, people could play in their favorite season and I think it'd work

Their best option would have been to not block off certain areas simply have the Pokemon you'd encounter change. For instance, Horde Pokemon would rotate around so you'd see different ones in single battles rather than hordes. Like Cubchoo, Smoochum, etc in single battles in the wild, then you can only find Cryogonal in horde battles. Alternatively, they could make it so only certain Pokemon appear rarely in various seasons..like Cryogonal only in the Winter. Putting it back on the month by month basis would have been fine and it wouldn't be as overjew since Animal Crossing has fuckers that only come out for like an hour for a few months during the year.

Seasons would have worked great in the overworld too. You can still see them in certain towns but it'd have been nice to see them all over.

I'd have like the colors to darken a bit too. It's too similar now when you're in the overworld and you can only really tell its nighttime when the camera kind of moves up that way or when you're in a battle.

Huh, I never noticed.

Also you can use certain moves to get items depending on the environment now.
For example if you fight in grass and you see a tree in the background you can use air cutter to receive berries after the fight. Works with some other moves and other environments as well

I just want seasons without pissing people off who don't want to wait months or weeks.

Also, I want to have random battle environments when fighting online. Why that boring virtual room, we got such beautiful icy environments, or the glittering cave one etc.
