Modest, 252SpA/252HP is probably the most common way of doing it, but it's fast enough that Timid, 252SpA/252Spe could work. Or you could scarf it and get some surprise kills.

I typically take like Curse, Shadow Ball/Hex, Flame Blast, and then something else. Should I really be doing it differently, its been working pretty alright so far for me online though I'm just using my shitty playthrough bro with slightly fixed EVs. I typically throw him in second or 3rd and he absolutely wrecks Aegislash and Scissor for me which is one of the reasons I love him so damn much.

Does the extra 10% from Timid actually allow you to outspeed anything worthwhile with the scarf? No point losing some attack power just to outspeed worthless shit like Ninjask and Deoxys S

you need timid to outrun 130 speed pokemon

unless you are switching into jolteon, aerodactyl, crobat etc, you can run modest.

but what I posted normally is supposed to switch into a fire-type move, so overheat gets flash-fire boosted.

Since Chandelure is my nigga and anyone who likes him is by proxy my nigga as well, I'll let you in on a secret.

176 speed EVs plus timid and choice scarf makes you outspeed max speed mega Gengar by exactly 1 point. Slap infiltrator on Chandy and your Shadow Ball will OHKO mega Gengar. Most people won't suspect it online and figure you're just desperate after mega Gengar sets up a sub and starts fucking your team.

Max speed modest with Choice Scarf will only make you hit 198 speed at level 50 meaning you will be slower than Mega Gengar by 2 points. Sucks, huh?

Don't use Overheat with a choice item. Don't be silly. Flamethrower or if you're a gambling man, Fire Blast.

I have a few leftover Litwicks if you want one.

You don't need to have 'as much speed as possible' though, you need to be able to outspeed the opponent. With Modest you can outspeed 90% of opponents and OHKO 90% of them, with Timid you can outspeed 95% of opponents and OHKO 50% of them. Which is better?

I have a perfect IV modest one you can have. It's flash fire so since it's not timid and infiltrator we can't do that trolly build I talked about but at least it'll be a great start

It's still very viable, although I prefer Infiltrator.

You have to think that if everyone thinks your Chandelure will be Infiltrator, they may use a Fire type move if they lack coverage or are locked in, or you could switch into a Fire type move. A SpA boosted Chandelure is extremely dangerous

You're knd of fucked against substitutes especially because chandelure has mediocre defense. If anything, because the shiny rate has decreased, I'd take my chances breeding another one. IVs, asides from speed, rarely make a difference too.
