Did they increase the shiny odds in X and Y or am I lucky as fuck?

Last Saturday while looking for ditto but then I encountered a random shiny ditto. I caught the ditto easy. It's not imposter .

Today while EV training my Mawile and Azumarill I encountered a random shiny Bellsprout in a horde battle and I couldn't believe my eyes because I just found a random shiny 3 days ago!

Are shinies easier to find this gen or was it pure luck?

Sad thing is that I already have shiny Bellsprout on my Soul Silver, at least it's Jolly nature.
