So, what do you guys recommend on getting Masuada material breeding pokemon IV wise? I've tried searching on the GTS, but generally it's most likely scams. Any thoughts?

1. Catch 2-3 boxes friend safari dittos
2. Place on GTS one at a time
3. Request Ditto
4. Set lvl range to 30
took about 2 mins per ditto max back when I did it, probably longer now
keep doing it and cycling through the dittos until all of them are foreign, if you get an english one just put it back up
I got 2 3perfect IV japanese dittos doing this from just a box and a half of friend safari dittos

while I MM with the dittos, I take breaks sometimes to dump some some spawn into wonder trade, if you trade while american kids are at school (10am-2pm EST) you tend to get japanese breeding leftovers. I get tons of 4 perfect japanese honedge and marrill. If you get lucky you might get a 4IV nipponese poke that you are breeding for.

If it's a male, then you pretty much got coverage for a whole egg group, possibly two.

I meant you can check the IV in US game before sending it over. This way when you hatch it you know that it'll definitely have good IV while being register as foreign

Is language really all it takes to change region?
I was already going to play through my copy of Yto try and practice my Japanese, bonus if it makes it consider it to be JAP.

In Gen VI, IVs are set as soon as you reject the previous egg. This is why that weird egg trick works.

Also eggs IVs aren't set up when you pick it up anymore. It was set when the previous egg was pick up or reject. Which is why "Switching Parents + Destiny Knot" trick work.

Well it used to be based on Language not Region (UK Ditto won't work on US game in Gen V).

Not sure about Gen VI though.

You can save the game after you reject an egg.
Go pick up a new egg, hatch it and check the IVs.

Now you do know that destiny knot passdown 5 IVs from either parents right? Just take a note of which stats was pass down by which parents on your newly hatch Pokemon.

Reset the game, then switch the parents into the one that have 31 IV in that stats that will be pass down.

I probably wouldn't try MMing with a foreign ditto if you're wanting decent IVs. Check GTS for the pokemon you want, set the level to 1-10 and get any foreign ones that are asking for easy-to-get pokemon. I got a 4IV then 5IV Venipede for MMing yesterday, just keep checking.

You need to calculate them, there are IV calculators out there though. Alternatively you could do something like reset multiple times, one time put in a mother with no 31s and a father with 31s in hp, atk, def, see which of those three are inherited from which at that IV checker guy (31s in those stats must be from the father, others from mother), reset and swap again for a father with 31s in spatk, spdef and speed and check which of those three are inherited from which. It's a bit more cumbersome that way but you don't need to use anything external.

It fucks up if you're swapping parents of different gender ratios or if one of the parents is genderless.

For example, you test with two Magikarps (50/50 gender ratio). You swap them with parent pokes that are also 50/50 and then it'll work.

Thanks for the insight, I've been trying to do both of these things, I'm just not sure how people go about actually being successful at it so quickly, just lucky, I guess.
I wish I had a way to maintain contact with someone in Spain, Japan, Germany, etc to get a 4 or 5 IV foreign ditto, I'd be willing to trade them anything for it.

4-5IV dittos are hard to come by as it is. It's easier to just get a 4-5IV male poke of your preferred egg group.

I was looking for a 4IV foreign Larvesta through the GTS earlier today and finally got one from Japan after maybe 3-4 scamming kids. Then proceeded to trade him afterwards, where we exchanged proper 5IV Larvestas and Mawiles.

I have a 5 IV Male Japanese Larvitar I came by from wonder trade, I plan on using it to breed a shiny, but I don't believe that I'd want any from Monster egg group, but who knows. I might settle for Kanga or Charizard.
