is Trick Room (still) a viable strategy in this generation?

I still don't have X/Y and am considering getting the third version(s), also I have been in the competitive scene very briefly, back in gen IV, was quite a noob (but many thanks to the dude who helped me out hereteaching be the basics) and was interested in Trick Room but never got to use it because that sounded like an advanced kind of playstyle

I'm really curious because as soon as I get the game I might want to build a TR team right away

if it's viable, any tips/new pokes that are good for a TR team? c-can I use Trevenant...?
