I haven't heard anything about this guy.

Is Mega Blastoise any good?

Or at least, is regular Blastoise better now that it has access to Aura Sphere and whatnot?

A spinner with boosted Dark pulse is a nightmare for any pokemon that calls itself a spinblocker. Too bad a Mega for a spinner isn't a good option having Excadrill and Starmie already.

Dragon Pulse
Water Pulse

thinking about replacing Rapid Spin (I already have a Crobat with defog) with Dark Pulse. Even without my coverage is incredible.

Dragon Pulse is only SE on Dragons, and all the good ones (Garchomp, Salamence and Dragonite) take more from Ice Beam.

Unless you're really afraid of Charizard X I'd drop it

It's also slower, has less bulk, and can't Rapid Spin. It can't really stay alive long enough to be too much of a threat.

Althrough really, I prefer regular Blastoise and use a different Mega.

I see your point. But Mega Blastoise doing the dragon pulse animation is too bad ass to give up. And it does more damage on pure dragons with mega launcher. Talking about goodra. And I already OHKO all the dragons you've listed with it.

I bring in arcanine to take the knot. He knows wild charge and flare blitz with 252 in speed.

I have a Mega-evolution-prepared Blastoise named "Patton" on my team, and he's pretty fun to fight with, if that means anything; granted, I'm pretty much a scum casual compared with most users here, so I doubt my word is worth anything.

He's pretty good since not only he can spin, but he can take down just about any spin blocker except for Rotom-W.

His biggest problem is the one mega evolution per team rule, and a spinner (albeit a good one) generally isn't your best use of one.

Even after Mega Launcher it's only 90BP. You're better off using Scald for the burn chance to help you tank better, or Hydro Pump for the raw power.

I'm building a team for an upcoming battle with a friend and we're not revealing info about each other's teams until the battle. Megastoise is my current mega but I'm wondering if there's something better I could use?
Knowing he's a karenfag I have a guess he might have Azumarill, Hawlucha, and Clawitzer on his team (possibly even Raichu or Charizard-X), but this could just be me assuming he's going to use his favorite mons. Would it be in my better interest to switch to something like Mega Ampharos or is Mega Blastoise fine?
If neither, what are some other recommendations for a good mega?
