>>15900404>requires an unreasonable amount of preparation to deal withWhole categories of mons are required just for dealing with Stealth Rock. A mon's bulkiness is more or less measured by its ability to take STAB quake from one or two OU mons. Magnezone existed in OU ONLY BECAUSE PEOPLE NEEDED TO DEAL WITH SCIZOR.
Scizor is on 1 team in every 5, Aegislash is on 1 team in every three, while Blaziken is barely on 1 team in every 10.
He's not OP and he's not centralizing. What he IS is good at destroying a single particular type of playstyle that revolves around outspeeding and OHKOing the enemy to cover for your shitty frailty. Blaziken is tissue paper and can be countered by just about ANY BULKY OFFENSE TEAM ANYWHERE EVER.
But dickheads like Aldaron have such a boner for hyper-offense they ban it because, and only because, it can gottagofast. It was RU before speed boost, everything they say about SDs is a crock of shit. All they care about is the ease with which it can go first, because if Blaziken always goes first then the metagame stops being about speedy glass cannons and a new strategy has to take center stage.
This coming from the same guy who proposed the ban of drizzle + swift swim despite it breaking Smogon's complex ban prohibition because it had the same effect; rain teams were always going first.
What a fucking tool. I don't mind the banning/unbanning of legendaries or shit like evasion that might genuinely be OP or just be anti-competitive, but this ban is SOLELY based on the inability of a bunch of pompous neckbeards (who the hell calls themselves a "high council"?) to adapt to a new way of playing Pokemon.
Guess I'm off Showdown this gen again, it was fun while it lasted and hopefully one day soon Smogon will get their heads out of their asses.
