I don't tip because society says I have to. All right, if someone deserves a tip, if they really put forth an effort, I'll give them something a little something extra. But this tipping automatically, it's for the birds. As far as I'm concerned, they're just doing their job.

From a logic standpoint that's fine. From a standpoint of only 2 states having a living wage for waiters, that's pretty shitty. They get most of their money from tips. They frequently work for like $4 an hour.

Last time we had a "lel u tip faget" thread some anon mentioned that if waiters don't make minimum wage their employers have to make up the difference.

I've worked fast food and waiter in a proper restaurant. I currently work as a full time cook in a pretty nice restaurant in Seattle.

They are not even kind of the same thing. I would not go back to fast food for the fucking world.
