Training Chespin

After a few hours of breeding, I finally have a 5IV Impish Bullet Proof (-Sp.Att) Chespin w/ Synthesis and Spikes. Here's my problem though; I had never even considered training a Chespin until someone gave me a Brave 4IV Bulletproof Female w/ Spikes and Synthesis.

I'm thinking about using him as a tank and maxing out his Defense and HP IV's with the rest in Attack. However, what moveset should I use? I'm thinking of:

Chesnaught @Leftovers (Impish)
252 HP/ 252 Defense/ 4 Attack
-Leech Seed
-Seed Bomb/Spikes
-Hammer Arm/Spikes
-Synthesis

What has me confused is what to do with Spikes. I feel weird leaving it out, but I think it needs Synthesis as a reliable recovery move seeing as how it's a tank. And leftovers/Leech Seed will help the stall overall. If I take away Seed Bomb for Spikes, then I'm utterly walled by ghosts, but if I take away Hammer Arm for Spikes, other grass types will wall me because they're immune to Leech Seed.
