Ok, so I went to Anistar City to get back a Pikachu that I gave to the old man which I now needed for breeding and upon entering the old man's house, all I see is a Pokeball in the center. I got to pick it up and the text says it has Pikachu inside it and a letter attached. The letter reads:
>Thanks to the kindness you and your Pikachu showed me, I was able to keep smiling until the very end. I apologize that I can't look after Pikachu anymore, but I know you'll take care of it. Finally, please take this Comet Shard as a token of my thanks.
Did the old man die? I f not, what happened to him? I was genuinely shocked and saddened by this as I was only going to pick up my Pikachu. I even had another Pokemon ready in my party to give to him instead. Why?
