I still wanna know who works at gamefreak who makes some of the decisions on pokemon stats, movepool and typings. Aside from the plenty of pokemon who I question in that matter, this game was very good. Game wise I am not sure if it was the best but the change to 3D models was amazing and worked out very well. I love the interaction with trading and breeding. I was never a fan of having to go to the Pokecenter wait to load into a special room I magically spun into and finally battle or trade one thing over. The ability to do these things anywhere you want and with ease has really made trade pokemon so much easier to obtain. Pokemon Amie is gimmicky but cute and Super Training is pretty useless. The addition to making breeding easier is also wonderful, finally dumbass me can start doing things legit and feel good about the teams I make.

End of the day, I really did enjoy that game and have countinued to enjoy it. Thats the important thing.

Well considering I stated two things I didnt like about that game, I probably would of been doing a bad job if that was the case.

Though If i had to say one more thing I disklike is I still wish you could use those little face emoticons from 5th gen when you trade. When someone asks you to trade randomly with no voice chat its kinda hard to figure out what they want.

Because if you thought that the story in a Pokemon game was EVER deep or involving for an 18+ year old then you need to make sure your not mentally handicapped.

All Pokemon stories are dogshit to someone with an education higher than the 6th grade, but its perfectly acceptable for someone WHO'S FUCKING 7.

I'm not denying that it wasn't a bit lazier in the plot, but judging a POKEMON game by the plot is silly.

Basically, trying to determine whether or not a Pokemon game is good/bad on plot is akin to comparing dogshit to dogshit.

The plot is about the issues with cloning and genetic modification, as well Giovanni's attempt to reclaim Mewtwo.

It's just glossed over and left in a handful of Pokemon and the Cinnabar journal entries thanks to lack of budget, Pokemon's minimalistic approach to story (until recently) and the game's focus on your goal to become a Pokemon Master.

Black and White sucked dick. It tried to be an explosion of awesome. And failed brutally. The story was the only redeeming thing about it. I'm never going back to play it again. Like I said. The plot was good. I don't find anything else appealing about it. 70% of the new pokemon were ugly as sin. Especially the legendaries. Seriously, only Kyurem and Zekrom were cool looking. Castelia was as much of a nightmare as Lumiose. The gyms were easy as hell. The battle subway or whatever was retarded, game link was busted, the metagame was filled with legit pokesav mons, the sprites were unattractive in general, it deviated too much from the formula and not in a good way. It was shit.

The story's pretty much slapped into Pokemon for filler. The game is about catching and battling monsters, that's it. The story's there to stretch the main game out for those who enjoy playing through the game and not just the competitive aspect of it.

Colosseum/XD weren't made by Gamefreak. Those models weren't theirs to use.

Also the Stadium models were made for the N64 and then recycled multiple times. If they'd used those for XY I'd be joining in with the OP in declaring the game shit because that'd be half-arsing the one really cool thing about the game not linked with competitive balance.

I'm sure the "discussion" in this thread is already over with, but I'd like to bring attention to something.

The 3D transition was huge. Even if a lot of them were done for the Pokedex app, and reused that's only their idle animation(possibly one attack animation? forgive my ignorance). Every single Pokemon in the game has the following animations:
-intro
-idle
-Phys Atk
-Special Atk
-Misc Atk
-Faint
Now double this(or more for formes)to include the shiny versions. I understand they are palette swaps but someone had to program them all in. Every Pokemon has 12 animations. Now multiply it by 700+. That is a lot of work. That's only counting battles as well, not any of the other improvements the games offered.

I do know what year it is, and that they are a large company. But for a "testing the waters" title they did very well, honestly. Hopefully Z/XY2 will improve on an already good game.

However I can't forgive them for removing features in the very next title, hate on them all day for that shit. They deserve it.

Even so, there are some animations you forgot to list, namely the ones for Pokemon Amie. Not only the ones of them eating, playing and whatnot, but also the in-battle nods and movements that are a result of their bonding stat.

Doing all of that for 800+ models (counting all the forms) is a hell of a lot of work.
