So, here's my problem. You create a metagame by forcing certain tactics into common use. Things like Steath Rock and Batton Pass are used by basically everyone because they're the tactics that work in your metagame, despite the fact that they're not the best tactics. You ban moves like Double Team and Minimise for no clear reason, blaming "RNG" for any tactics you don't like and, rather arrogantly, act like Pokémon is somehow a finely tuned art and that you should "win with skill not luck". A sentiment that's profoundly stupid considering how accuracy, critical hits, and status effects are practically always down to a little luck. The thing that bothers me about this is not that the rules are in place but that they're enforced. If people want to have battles where they agree to have certain overused tactics removed, fine, but it doesn't improve the game to do that. All you do by removing the best tactic is make the second best tactic now the most overused method of play. The fact is there are many things in this game, for example the "evasion clause" which is, will all due respect;fucking stupid. By removing altering of evasion and accuracy from the game, you completely change the dynamic of the game. Without this change we have choices. For example, Imagine you're using an electric Pokémon fighting a bird Pokémon such as Staraptor. "Do I go for the less accurate 'Thunder' or the less powerful 'Thunderbolt', I'm fighting a bird so 'Thunderbolt' will surely be enough but they could use 'Double Team', perhaps 'Shock Wave' is a better choice as it always hits and ignores evasion." This now gives you a reason to use 'Shock Wave'.
