OU in gen 5 is weather: the tier. The only weatherless teams that were doing well at all were 4drag2mag, and those wouldn't have been popular if every single team wasn't running either weather or dedicating valuable team slots to garbage like Gastrodon.

How is banning an ability on a Pokemon, while allowing it or another Pokemon alongside it soooooooo complex? A complex ban would be like no Stealth Rocks on your Red Card Ferrothorn while the opponent has Charizard.

I'm pissed off about that sentiment since Blaziken got banned to Ubers because of Speed Boost, BUT you couldn't even use Blaze Blaziken in OU or whatever because it had Speed Boost as an option, while Kingdra got to run whatever else it had.

But the metagame isn't even centered on speed anymore. Priorities matters more now.

It's really easy to counter Blaziken, he doesn't get guaranteed kills either unlike Mega Gengar.
Fire/Fighting isn't the perfect typing either.

Only thing that is an actual counter to Blaziken is Slowbro, and everything else relies on chance or properly predicting what set the opp is using/what move they're going to use.

He is not a healthy pokemon to keep around, nor is M-Gengar.

Tentacruel and Azumarill don't have the bulk to switch in and guarantee a kill on the fire chicken while surviving, and azu can't scare out the chicken multiple times.

Also, there are plenty of fire chickens running rock moves to deal with would be counters already (rock slide because of that delicious flinch chance), so almost anything that would counter just dies instead.

Slowbro is the only thing with enough power and bulk to ensure opp chickens die without dying itself while also carrying recovery to ensure repeat performances.

The thing is terrible, because it loses to one priority move and no one would bother to think of giving it Quick Attack. Mega-Blastoise is a better Mega than that bird.

Aqua Jet isn't a guaranteed kill unless they have previous damage.

Also, blaziken deals enough that if it switches out, you aren't going to be able to counter with azumarill if it's scared out.

Remember, you have to get GUARANTEED KILL, and you gotta be able to switch back in repeatedly.

I've got no problem with them banning Deo-N and Blaziken, but it's not like those are the only two broken Pokémon right now. Blaziken is still OP, but he doesn't feel as OP as he did at the start of 5th gen because there's a whole bunch of other overpowered shit surrounding him. So I only agree with them banning him if they also ban all the other stuff too.
