I am getting Pokemon Y for my birthday tomorrow.
I always beat the single player campaign with the shittiest lone pokemon I can find. For example, I beat HeartGold with an unevolved Weedle by itself, that only knew poison sting, string shot, and bug bite.

What is a good pokemon that I can find early in pokemon Y that I can beat the game with?

Second unrelated question:
is heracross usable in competitive battling?

I do it as a testament to how pitifully easy the pokemon games are because I always make new friends who insist the game is hard and requires strategy

all you have to do is spam X defend and X special defend on weedle, or buy Hyper Potions and spam those until the guy is out of moves.

Try using a Weedle against a player. They obviously mean that, not the single player mode.

Are they talking about single player or multiplayer...?

Because in the single player, yeah they're wrong as shit (except for the battle facilities) but in multiplayer, I'd say they're correct.

Holy shit this is pathetic. Borderline autistic too. Why would anyone solo with a shitmon and just keep on using items to stall the battle and win? That's not skill or a show of testament of how easy a game is. That's just a sad pathetic attempt to make someone feel good about themselves in the most agonizing way to play.

That's a direct quote from him. There is no fucking strategy involved in this game, if I wanted to do it for "real" I could roll a starter (any starter) and use exclusively him in battle and he will become so strong and high leveled that he will destroy absolutely everything in the game including "strategic counters" to himself.

Actually it is a testament to how easy the game is if he can beat it with an unevolved Weedle. It doesn't really matter how exactly he does it as long as it's possible.

inb4 "turn off EXP share." Even with it off, it's still the easiest game in the series except for maybe Red/Blue

On another note, Heracross is pretty goddamned great. Whether in singles or doubles, he wrecks even harder than his own mega. He's basically the face of UU because he's so good, but not enough people used him to warrant bumping him up to OU.

Don't forget how he was OU in every gen before 5th.

He just got a bit more competition in Gen 5 due to the mass amount of fighting types. He's still pretty great on his own.
