I always worry this'll happen but I can usually sweep them with one Pokémon.
In Gen 4, I OHKO'd a friend's uncompetitive, all-legendary team with Night Slash/Ice Punch/ Low Kick/Swords Dance, sash Weavile.
In Gen 5, I did the same with another friend using Scarf Tyranitar.
Last week I did it to a passerby on WiFi using a Chatot.

Admittedly these people are shit beyond just being casual, but there really is no substitute for a well-designed moveset which fits a Pokémon's stats.
