>>15952168I can't speak for others, but for me, I can't say it doesn't have to do with nostalgia. Not just with Pokémon games, but with all of the old 8-bit RPG games. There's a unique charm to them, and if it wasn't for being able to buy old games digitally, I too would say I miss it.
I'm not trying to say that the later generations wouldn't be able to understand, because I'm sure there's kids out there that like the older graphics, but the majority wouldn't really understand. Even though the gaming technology wasn't good back then as it is now, I really loved how it wasn't about how a game looked, but how it played and the mechanics of it all. It's these things that our generation has learned (well, not all), that make 8-bit graphics special.
