Up to egg 100 for Gastly. This will be the first shiny that takes me more than 100 eggs. Hatched a Beldum in Black in probably 50 and Gible and Protean Froakie in 20 or less.

22 boxes into Flabebe. I've got too much schoolwork to be worrying about this shit...

Purging my boxes, checking out potential 5IVs, so far have 10 non shinies so after I go through these last two boxes I'll just mass release everything from now.

I may re-breed a Gastly afterward to nab a 31 S.atk/Speed and I was considering a Venipede but hidden ability + IVs seems like it's just begging to get screwed over by the RNG.

The only good news is that I managed to find a good foreign father and get egg moves, so the child will have good IVs, nature, ability, and toxic spikes.

No, it's any pokemon from a different region, always has been. Ditto is just a popular choice because then you don't need one pokemon for each egg group, or a female of your target.
The nature and ability has nothing to do with MM, that's breeding 101.

IV passing, you just have 1 parent hold a destiny knot. Nature passing you give the parent with the desired nature an everstone. Ability has a 60% chance of passing from the mother

Today marked the beginning of my quest to get a shiny of every eeveelution with solid natures and IVs.

I started with Timid because I heard that is a good nature for both Espeon and Jolteon.

On the 73rd egg, this guy popped out. Unfortunately he only inherited two perfect IVs from his parents instead of the five I was hoping for but it is the first of eight none the less.

So the big question is, with 31IVs in HP and Speed, should he be a Jolteon or an Espeon?

Unless you didn't use a destiny knot, that's impossible. You're guaranteed 5 IVs to pass, so assume att came from F and def from M, you know HP came from M and speed from one of the two. That's 4 passed IVs and only one wildcard...are you sure your IV spreads are correct?

I used a Destiny Knot and I know at least the Females are correct. The Male has 5 IVs and the missing one is one covered by the Female. I could run over to the Daycare and check I guess.

Parent movesets are locked when you deposit them. So long as you don't withdraw and redeposit with the new moves, you're fine.

the actual move deletion doesn't happen until the moment you take them out.

So you could have a level 55 eevee and the babies it has will still have the moves you put it in with.

Yeah, as far as we know, two English Pokemon, even if one is from America, and the other is from the UK, won't count towards Masuda.

Foreign Pokemon will have a language tag to indicate it, and it doesn't show up if the Pokemon is from someone with the same language settings, so it can be assumed that language settings is what affects the Masuda Method.

EV train it and evolve into Sylveon.

You can use it as breeding if needed, although it's easy enough to get 5IVs even with only 2-3 perfect IVs.

How do you have the patience to keep track? I never counted but I'm sure I've passed at least a thousand.
(I just release my pokemon as soon as I see they're not shiny. occasionally i check their stats and wonder trade them if they're 5IV)

I put them in boxes, releasing the non-HA females immediately. Then when 10 boxes of mine are full I actually go and have ALL my Espurr judged. Only keeping the ones that have 5 IVs - atk and the 6 IV ones.

In WoW I ran pretty much every mount-dropping raid anywhere from 50-200+ times and never saw a single one of the mounts.

In Maplestory I killed thousands of many of the boss monsters and never got anything.

And now in Pokemon I fully expect to never see a shiny. In addition to the fact that I've never seen one in any game...except G/S/C...but I've always tried to get them.

Just now, I caught a shiny Helioptile at the Friend Safari! I got a Thunderstone and evolved it into a shiny Heliolisk.

Now this is my third shiny in the Friend Safari from Inkay, Vivillion, and now Helioptile. (Vivillion and Helioptile both caught today!)
