Assault Vest general.

Who are you using AV on? Has it worked well for you?

Many people are using it on Slowbro or Slowking because of Regenerator. What are you using it on, and have you been successful?

I use it on drapion, it's nice. Lets him have enough special bulk for gengar and other ghosts and psychics without having to compromise attack.

I hear a lot of people use it on ttar and goodra.

people expect to ko him with a stab supereffective thunder but nah this fucker won't go down even from that (though he wil be near death)
works great as a switch in on ice beams and the like though
only problem is that without life orb/specs he 2hko's most stuff that he can't hit for supereffective and with his speed that makes for a small lifespan in a battle (won't last more than 2 pokes)

I really like mixed Goodra with this.
It has everything it needs to hurt steels that switch in to take Draco Meteor, and still has Dragon Tail for phazing.

I put one on my Goodra and it can not die from special attacks. It easily tanks Gardevoir Moonblasts and punishes back hard with Sludge Bomb.

I'm putting it on my Mamoswine as a counter to Gengar. Max HP ATK EV investment with Adamant makes Focus Miss a 2HKO and gives me enough chance to Avalanche + Ice Shard for a dead Gengar.

I feel like I should put it on something else though. I have a Togekiss, Slowbro, and a Noivern. Any of those viable?

Although a bit of a gimmick it can do well on a Contrary Malamar set.

Superpower ends of boosting Attack and Defense and his speed is abysmal but not viable for Scarf so an assault vest can plug the hole in his SpD to make him very hard to take down, especially with his typing only being weak to Bug and Fairy.

I've been running it on a special def based solid rock Rhyperior. It kinda works as most people assume they can still just 1shot him with any special move only to have it barely scratch him.

Him, really? For the longest time I've been running Superpower, night slash, hypnosis, and topsy turvy with leftovers. Topsy turvy is there to shut down boosters like Blaziken and Aegislash, and Hypnosis helps me net boosts and heal off damage

Assault vest sounds tempting though. What move set do you use?

Well for me I can't stand Hypnomiss and I think Topsy Turvy is too situation, and you have to hope you aren't 2KO anyway after the switch in.

Malamar @ Assault Vest
Adamant 252 SpD and Att
~Super Power
~Night Slash
~Psycho Cut
~Pluck/Rock Slide

That last slot is due to limited attack pool, and might be replaced with Move Tutor stuff if there is another game. I prefer Pluck over Rock Slide to deal with Bug more accurately and to remove berries. Rock Slide misses a fuckton and never gets its flinch on such a slowpoke. Might work in doubles though.

AV Goodra with Gooey ability is hilariously fun to use.

I did run into a scald drizzletoed that had one which caught me off guard. Tanked shit like a motherfucker,it just would not die. Not to mention i never wanted to tbolt it because they had a half dead jolteon they switched in often to try and volt absorb.

I want to try it with Florges since that seems like fun but it has to rely in hidden fucking power for a 4th move

I was doing Trick+Choice Specs for a bit on pokebank OU until it told me trick doesn't happen pre-pokebank. So I swapped to that.

Unless you're getting prioirty trick, Klefki would've already been able to do something at least. And the same thing already happens if you give it a choice item.

You could do that with fake out, taunt, or even like, magic mirror.

I just put my leftover 4 evs in speed (I run 31 anyway) on the off chance I occasionally outpace something. it doesnt hurt but his speed just isn't worth salavaging much.
