You ALSO realize that Pursuit and Sucker Punch both cap at 80 base power, and are totally useless if you predict poorly, right? And that those moves are only super-effective against two types, both of which are also weak to the less-resisted Ghost-type?
Of course, Dark still has that Speed-dropping entry hazard... Wait, nope, that's Bug, sorry, Dark has the 90 BP special STAB that ignores substitutes... except it doesn't, I'm thinking of Bug again, what I meant to say was that Dark has an amazing move that's basically Calm Mind but with a speed boost, too! Right? ...shit, that's a Bug move.
In terms of individual Pokemon, sure, Bug has more than it's share of trashmons. Dark has Liepard and Mightyena and Shiftry, which are about as bad. Smogon's OU tier had a whopping two Dark types at the end of Generation V, Tyranitar and Hydreigon. That same tier had three Bugs. This generation is still a shitstorm, but it's likely that Hydreigon will drop out of OU at some point, while newcomer Greninja hardly counts as a Dark type. Meanwhile, Scolipede and Galvantula have each gotten buffs to make them likely contenders in OU.
