This may sound crazy, but I've found a shiny three times in a row using the same method now.

During the day I've been playing X, in the safari looking for shinies. Having no luck I leave it on overnight and resume in the morning. Within 10 encounters I'm staring at a shiny Sliggo.

2 days ago, I had been playing the night before, just added a new bro with Charmeleons, Ninetales and Magmars so I was looking for Drought Ninetales.
End up leaving the game on in the safari and not coming back to it for 24 hours. When I wake it up, within 5-10 encounters I see a shiny Ninetales.

Starting to get suspicious I save then leave and check the IV's. I accidentaly KO a poke but I don't want the Ev's so I soft reset. Back in the safari I leave it for another 24 hours.

Almost immediately I find a Shiny Charmeleon.

What I'm saying is, spending a shitton of time in the safari while in sleep mode has provided me a shiny with minimal effort 3 times in a row now. I'm gonna try again tonight, see if I can't get the Magmar.

Any of you have a similar experience?

So I was the one that said I caught a Shiny Vivillion, and Shiny Helioptile, which I evolved it into Heliolisk. I caught both of these pokemon in Friend Safari today.

And previously, I caught a Shiny Inkay at the Friend Safari as well.

Just now... I caught a Shiny Xatu...

So pretty much I caught three shiny pokemon in the Friend Safari in one day... Wow...

Waited a day, had a few more encounters, found shiny.

Not saying this is conrete or anything, the Sliggo could've been a cooincidence but the Ninetales and Charmeleon definitely happened within very few encounters after resuming play

Seems like a safe way to text something that doesn't suck up time. Close it up, go to sleep and see what happens.

Would also explain why most of my shinys come within a hour or more of Random encounters. Wonder if it resets after you get one to show up.

This may be the wrong place to talk about this, but since it was is on my quest for a shiny I think it fits. I just got my first 6 IV Pokemon breeding to recreate my first shiny. Which happened to be a Sentret. At least he's male so his good genes are viable. Oh well. Back to breeding.

Quick question about chaining. In this generation, can you keep chaining for shiny pokemon even after you've already found one, or does it break your chain like it does for fishing? I remember back in gen 4 I was able to get several shiny Larvitars because it kept going. Not sure if it's the same now.

I've successfully chained 4 Pokemon in X. Here's all you need to know:

You really, really need to learn to recognize the levels shaking. After that, to me it almost seems easier than Gen IV now, besides the most glaring problem: lack of very good patches to chain in. Try the one with Furfrou/Skiddo, as it's fucking huge.

Put up your own 5 IV on the GTS asking for whatever you want 1-10 and hope for the best. It will take some tries if the pokemon you want is extremely common.

Well, once you stepped into a heavy shaking patch it would act like you had from the beginning, choosing one from the beginning just makes it easier. You CAN switch grasses partway through, but you would never want to on purpose.

Yes actually, but it seems like nearly all the eggs get 4 IVs though, gotten maybe 3-4 with just 3 perfect IVs so far.

No one really knows. I went a week searching in there, about 75 hours total, and didn't find a single shiny in the FS i was in. I left it out of frustration, entered a completely random one and found 3 shinies within 12 hours in it. Makes me wonder if there is something else that increases the rate inside there but honestly nobody knows right now.

This might be a very noob question and I tried googling it but was inconclusive,

I know when you talk to the day care guy when you've got your pokemon deposited in the day care and he'll say something like 'The two seem to get along' or 'The two don't seem to like each other very much' and that determines how often they'll produce eggs

Isn't there an item/power that increases this? Or am i just imagining things

i really want to get a shiny litleo and riolu but i'm having problems with what patch to use. also i'm horrible at chaining to begin with. when i first started i was getting 12-15 chains easily a few days ago and now i can barely get two.

i also can't even find a litleo when i use my poke radar. all i get is fucking psyduck and azurill. sometimes a bidoof. this is depressing.

does the square you start on effect chaining and is it better to always go back to it to refresh the radar? help plz.

ps yesterday i got a shiny lillipup in the normal pokemon safari in 2 encounters after spending 3 hours in the fighting safari fighting and catching riolu. i'm happy but also upset
