That sounds broken, it's basically a free Curse and all they have to do is put it on a Pokemon with reliable recovery. This also means they have a free moveslot instead of a status move and there's not a damn thing the opponent can do about it. Totally broken.

I had this whole idea while back for an item that absorbs "essence" from different attacks and creates an item mixing element to the game to help the player get rare or difficult items. Basically they were called "Magic Jars," like the ones in Zelda.

So for example, when you're hit with an Ice move you would capture "Ice Essence." Mixing two of these nets a Nevermelt Ice. But if you mix an Ice and a Fire essence, you get a Mystic Water. See what I'm getting at?

Weird other essences would appear too, things like "Life Essence" if a Pokemon faints while holding a jar. Mix five of those and you get a Focus Sash... It would add a neat mechanic to the game

Focus Punch has negative priority. I think it's literally impossible for a Pokemon to take damage after successfully using Focus Punch.

Change the effect to "merely" making Focus Punch a 150 BP Fighting-type Punch move with 100% accuracy and normal priority. It's still an insane move, but now the loss of the item should make up for being able to spam Fight-per Beam for 20-32 turns.
