The eggs have a shiny value, if this shiny value matches your trainser shiny value the hatcher pokémon will be shiny.

You need to trade your egg to someone who matches the egg shiny value. When it hatches it'll be shiny. Then this person trades it back to you and that's it.

no anon, you don't need to trade them. Simply showing your pokemon to another player in the trade menu will make your pokemon appear on the program, stats, iv's and everything. I've tested it myself.

The pokemon inside an egg is predetermined, but its shiny status is not. This is because shininess depends on an operation that compares the pokemon to the ID of the owner.
This means that an egg that wouldn't hatch shiny for you WILL hatch shiny for a different trainer whose ID matches the requirement. This tool lets you figure out what that ID is.

This didn't take long, two boxes of eggs and me and a friend each got the shiny we wanted.

But even without it he would have gotten a shiny, one of his Eevee eggs had his trainer ID so he would have gotten it regardless.

He must have the lucky number, because I had a Honedge egg with his ID as well.
