OP not everyone wants to give all normal pokemon fairy. I am personally annoyed by the extent of pushing fairy this gen has done, for example taking away the togepi line's normal STAB just so it can use the exact same moves every other fairy ever gets. and not fixing obvious issues such as

gyarados > water/dragon
golduck > water/psychic
noctowl > flying/psychic

etc

fairy is magical creatures, magic, none ghost spirits as in kami or elementals
a few mage like pokemon are fairy like mr. mime or gardevoir
fairy is not just cute pokemon. just like dragon is not just dragons, and ghost contains witches, arcane magic and shadows

If it didn't have prankster to be able to set up before it gets attacked and killed by earthquake/fire blast, it would be in an incredibly awful position.

If it didn't have a weakness to ground or fire, it would be a much, much more reliable Pokemon.

Considering that that "one weakness" you had before was Fighting, another type with an awesome physical priority, and that the two weakness you'd gain are still somewhat (or, in Poison's case, extremely) weak offensive types, and that you also gained a Dragon immunity and a resistance to Dark and Bug, it's worth it.

Hell, most of the most commonly used Fairies aren't even weak to Steel, or have Fire Blast.

People aren't going to be retarded and keep staying in on resisted/immune hits. That gives you more chances to get in, but blissey can't do shit once it's in. It can wall them to death with stuff like toxic+softboiled/protect

Then when Steels and poisons are the ones threatening it, it's being hard forced out. Even shit like Machamp and Lucario don't like being thunder waved.

diancie is some how related to carbink based on that design so my guess is its a queen of the carbink

wigglytuff is a balloon/rabbit
Dedenne seems to be based on a hamster or gerbil combined with a television antenna.other words standard dex filler

but clearly cute is clearly the only thing that type could be

yes the last two aren't fairies one is dex filler and the other got the type because the species its been matched with and compared to since gen 1, got it.

fairy has never only been cute, sylveon isn't here only because its an eevee so it isn't anything but a mutation of a genetically unstable normal type

All of the other ones are given except Wigglytuff and Dedenne follows the Pikaclone crap.
And the grand majority of them are pink/cutesy things even if they're based off of actual magical creatures. Which doesn't help at all.

sure some are pink
but cute is a matter of opinion i think most ghost, dark, bug, are cute but its pokemon the whole franchise is at least 33% cute by default

And then there's Marill and Dedenne.

But to be fair Dark type was pretty poorly represented back when it first debuted, maybe we'll get a clearer idea on what fairy officially represents as time goes on.
