You place the disc in the ball's button and some kind of menu appears where you can select the move to delete. Then, it spins until the learning is done.

I lean toward the theory that they take the form of, like, instructional videos. You pop them into some reader or player or somesuch and they show your 'Mon what to do. This is backed up by them being reusable in recent Gens.

I like to think that the Pokedex has a slot on it for the disk and plays a certain pitched sound that the Pokemon can pick up and interpret as a move.

When I was younger I always thought it slid into the Poke'dex and it was an instructional video so that you could teach your pokemon the specific move.

So. If the Pokeball button can fit the hole of a CD perfectly, you can put the TM/HM on it. It spins, and ta dah, move learned.

By the way, Masuda, when asked if people eat Pokemon, stated before this world has technology we can barely dream of, such as fantastic food. So, this setting is more like a full fledged scifi one.

Ok here's how it works, you put the disk in a computer and then press "install" and then it MAGICALLY FUCKING REPLACES A MOVE OF THE POKEMON

This is a game where you walk around beating the shit out of animals so you can IMMATERIALIZE THEM and make them PRISONERS INSIDE A 5 INCH DIAMETER BALL and you question how a fucking TM works? We're talking about a universe where little animals can be STORED AS INFORMATION ON A PERSONAL COMPUTER and you question how it is possible to transfer the knowledge from a disk into their brains? IT'S FUCKING MAGIC BITCH, just like everything else in this universe.

You're welcome. Yeah, and the ball could project a holographic menu or control panel or whatever to help you decide which old move to forget. And they've recently become reusable because they've started making them tougher and more durable.

i still say you lay the pokeball on its side, and take the hole in the middle of the "disk" and line it up with the pokeballs button, then it spins rapidly transferring the info to the pokemon.
then the disk brakes apart and flies off in random directions at high speeds
HMs however are made of a sturdier material, thus the multiple use thing

What was the point of the Teachy TV? I thought like, you'd pop the TM into the TV, the pokemon would watch an instructional video and the rest would be wept under the rug for time management's sake.

Any variation of the "download the data directly into the Pokemon" makes the most sense regardless of exacts behind that method. If it were as easy as just showing the Pokemon a "how to" video then you could just achieve the same thing while watching TV.
