You've turned into a Pokemon, and you don't know why, your partner wakes your passed-out ass up in the middle of the woods... You form an independent rescue team (I always hated being part of the guild) with the Pokemon that found you. The story's got more depth than that obviously, but I don't know how far into it you'd want me to go, as much more involves major spoilers.
Gameplay-wise, it's similar to Explorers but lacks Gen 4 Pokemon obviously. No genders, so Attract is even more broken as shit. Explorers mostly took little nitpicks and fixed them. But it's missing a lot of the little touches I enjoyed about Rescue Team. I guess I mostly preferred Rescue Team's setting and plot.
