Of course, "normal" is such a subjective thing and its so culturally and temporally based, but a lot of people here insist that their definition of normal (which seems to specifically be contemporary American social-ethical conservatism) is the absolute end-all be-all of morality, that nothing else has ever existed, exists, and will ever exist, and even slight deviations from this are heresy.
I tend to think of these people as CWC style manchild autistics who don't have the cognitive capacity to accept anything other than a black-and-white worldview based on what their parents told them. They're so concerned about being perfectly "normal" and maximally socially acceptable because deep down they know something about them is missing that other people seem to have, and it infuriates them when other people are happy with themselves while living by a different code.
