In case it isn't, I'll give you a response. Pokemon showdown doesn't handle the bans. Smogon does. Smogon doesn't ban things that rape them, they ban things that over centralize or destabilize the metagame. Do you want Rayquaza and Delibird in the same tier? (Okay yes HustleBird's Ice Shard one shots Rayquaza, but its not like Deli is gonna live an ExtremeSpeed)

You don't have to play OU. You are more than welcome to play any tier you want. If you want to use anything and everything, play ubers.

Yes. Blaziken was banned last gen V. His attack stat of 120 is very good, and he can boost it with Swords Dance. The main reason he wasn't great was that he was kind of slow, and was fairly easy to revenge kill. Speed Boost allowed him to jet around at SANIC speed, and could be revenge killed with anything short of Aqua Jet. With sun support, sometimes even Aqua Jet couldn't kill him, and his Flare Blitz hit for HUEG damage. Gen VI not only gave him a mega with even more power and speed, it made him able to Baton Pass his speed (and maybe attack) boosts.

If you try 4v4 doubles you'll see how bad Blaziken really is. It can't SD because it WILL die, it can protect then attack but it can only hit ONE pokemon, meaning it will die. Same goes for almost everything Smog on has a problem with.

Even sneaky pebbles aren't OP, simply because you don't switch that much. 4v4 is the best way to play.

Also bans aren't handled by what rapes them, Speed Boost Blaziken centralizes the metagame if it's allowed because it's THAT good. Look at current Wi-Fi how most teams are nothing but MegaBlaziken and Azumarill or Talonflame with the odd Unaware Quagsire here and there just to stop the thing. if you faggots who whine about bans are so good at Pokemon then just play Ubers and stop bitching. After all, you can KO Kyogre with Rattata remember? It doesn't need to be banned!

Also, why don't they have some kind of freestyle ruleset to play under on showdown? They have battle spot rules which are ok I guess, but everything else has a bunch of smogon clauses in it - I don't like those but I don't want to play doubles either.

According to those stats, Blaziken was the 53rd most popular pokemon, appearing on 3.3% of teams.

The most popular Pokemon was Aegislash, appearing on 33% of teams.

In what fucking universe is Blaziken "centralizing"? IN WHAT FUCKING UNIVERSE IS BLAZIKEN "CENTRALIZING"? It isn't even a top 50 mon, which IIRC is the cutoff for OU, is it not?

They quick banned him because the five dickheads who are in charge of quickbans didn't like fighting him. It has NOTHING to do with him being an unhealthy or overcentralizing aspect of the metagame.

There is no situation were M-Kanga always goes first.

If Smogon is going to ban non-legends to Ubers, it's going to do it because they can go faster than everything else, and the people in charge of making the decision play frail, speedy offense and can't handle things that always outspeed them. Blaziken, Excadrill, Swift-swimmers, Carvanha in LC... See my point?

Whatever tier Scolipede is strong enough to compete in, he'll get BL'd this gen. Watch. They cannot handle playing against mons which can guarantee an outspeed of their whole team, since it's based wholly on speed tier analysis.

If a Pokemon is so broken the entire metagame revolves around him, one would think he would be on more teams than one in fucking THIRTY.

Shit, by that data, the idea that you're even "forced to carry a Blaziken counter just to deal with him" is crap. You don't have to counter him. If he shows up, he puts a dent in your team, but that's only one match in every fucking 30. If you don't have a Pokemon that can deal with Scizor you're in a far worse position from a ladder perspective, what makes Blaziken broken?

Aegislash is on literally one team in THREE, it's the most centralizing element of any Pokemon meta to date.

One team in three.

One team in three, it effectively has 150 Atk, SpAtk, Def, and SpDef, it can lower your attack with a priority move, it gets STAB priority, it has one of the best type combos in the game, etc

Nobody's even mentioned a suspect test for that fucker.

But Blaziken is gottagofast, so ding dong bannu.

Mega Evolution + Dat Attack and the fact that Fire/Fighting offers excellent coverage.

Also Usage Statistics for early in a Gen are always shit, go dig around for early Gen 4 Statistics or Early Gen 5 when people were putting Eviolite on fucking Scyther in OU.

The Blaziken centralization argument is based purely on how it was in Gen 5 before it got banned.

Actually it brought plenty, including buffed Azumarill, Priority BB Talonflame, and other shit listed in this thread, and the usage data reflects a metagame where Blaziken is not the center of attention while some of his best counters run positively rampant, but okay.

Yes. One stab EQ, Surf,Acrobatics, FLY, brave bird, maybe even fucking scald will kill it. Smogon edits don't know about investing in DF and HP with some att/spa so they can live and kill with a SE Stab hit.

But you see my point, then: bulky powerhouses don't get banned because they don't always go first.

Never mind that a bulky playstyle laughs its ass off at Blaziken and all the other gottagofast mons, because their speed investments and ability slots are basically wasted on going first when they were already going to anyway, and their defenses are made of wet tissue. Never mind that Gen VI is, by popular consensus, a metagame based on bulky offense with strong priority elements rather than speedy offense in general.

The five guys who make the call don't play that way. They think Blaziken is broken because they build teams designed to be so fast their frailty is irrelevant, and Blaziken shits all over their strategy, and they cannot conceive of a userbase which is focused on a DIFFERENT strategy, so they immediately assume gottagofastchicken is broken and centralizing even though nobody is using it because they're too busy using bulky attackers/priority abusers.

Ubers is the banlist where you can use those and all the other Pokemon freely.

Please learn how tiers work before talking out of your ass. Talonflame and Aegislash having high usage statistics doesnt warrant them being banned but they're a hell of a lot easier to counter than Speed Boost Blaziken.

Not to mention that Reuniclus, Sylveon, and eventually Gardevoir, Dusclops/Dusknoir has this move. And Skill Swap can be fucking good in a lot of situations.

Why can't smogon think outside of the fucking box? This gen has priority all over the fucking place.

That goes for ANYTHING you allow to set up.
If you didnt do anything while he was setting up, its your fucking fault.
The same thing goes for most dragon dance users.

In both smogon showdown and in the actual pokemon game, whenever i met blaziken, he rarely worked and was most of the time dead weight.
