Is anyone else worried that there will be no mega evolutions in future generations? They beat you over the head that Kalos is special because of Xerneas/Yvetal live there and are probably the reason for the mega stones.

Maybe you can buy stones from a stone importer in other regions?

I don't want my Banette becoming useless, again.

They will return. The only reason they block items in Pokebank and every transfer since gen 4 is to prevent the hording of items. They know you won't spend time in the "tower" of the generation racking up BP if you can just bring the shit over. You'll pay out the ass, or they will be scattered about, but the Megas are here to stay

It's stated in the game that Mega Evolution is likely possible because of the presence of Xerneas/Yvetal, who are found in no other region (this is explicitly stated). The firing of the super weapon and Yvetal/Xerneas's involvement in it caused ordinary evolution stones to become mega stones. The Anistar Sundial also has importance in mega evolving.

It seems like they went to a whole lot of trouble with the story to make it seem like you won't see mega evolution anywhere else. Dunno if they're just going to write their way out of it or not.

It will be similar to getting the DNA splicers. There is a character is Kiloude (I believe she's there) who will ask if you have Kyurem. When you have it she obv gives you the splicers. Or maybe it will be like how you got the Orbs in BW.

Worried? That would be fantastic! I hated how they were so try hard in wanting to make you give a shit about this unnatural faux evolution bullshit. Its implimentation in battle is also stupid. You shouldn't be able to mega "evolve" and use a move in the same turn. It should've been one or the other. Would've gotten far more strategy and mindgames out of it that way.

I don't give a shit about their looks. There were 107 "new" pokemon introduced in Gen IV, but like 30 of them were just baby versions of old pokemon or new evo's of old pokemon. This is no different from Gen VI in terms of legit new pokemon. That's what makes them crap in general.

You know, Shadow Sneak/Sucker Punch off 165 base attack still works turn 1.

Unless you were planning to tank a hit with that massive +10 defense and +20 defense with no recovery, even if your opponent was burned, you shouldn't be using it as pure support prankster.

And you really, really shouldn't be running your mega just to destiny bond turn 1.

That's literally any of the moves you'd be running at any given time. What else would you even do first turn? Will-O-Wisp? How is that any less predictable? If you can predict a switch because of how "predictable" you are, you don't even need priority first turn, you can burn something switching in.

I enjoy what mega's have brought to the table. Theirs now another strategy you can use in battle. For example, Charizard gets obliterated by Stone-miss all day, while his megaX will most likely withstand the blow. I really hope to see more mega evolutions in the future, but I do hope there changes are more drastic in registration to typing.

I have to say personally its a relief when I see an opponent run a mega blaziken / gengar / heracross, because I know that they won't focus-stash my current-Mon.

The weapon fired thousands of years ago, that means Mega Stones have been around for a long time and the weapon affected most if not all of the world. It was basically exposition on how it can appear outside of Kalos. As of X and Y your character and Sycamore basically page the way for Mega Evolution research it's even promoted in the main story something gimmicks like Contests never had.
